AAS:   Are you a seasoned amateur astronomer or just getting into the hobby?

PH   I can identify all the constellations and be able to tell at sight each of the 4 brightest planets from the rest of the stars, but I am new at observing with a scope.

AAS:   What was your first experience that attracted you to astronomy?

PH   When I was about 10 I had my first visit to a planetarium, also in the spring of that year (1982), I saw Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Regulus and Spica all lined up across the sky, that really got me wanting to learn more.

AAS:   How about your family members; spouse? kids? significant other?

PH   Becky (wife), Adam (son, 2.5 years)

AAS:   Can you tell us a little about your formal education?

PH  West Georgia Tech - Electronics Technology

AAS:   Do you have any pets?

PH   Two cats, female grey tabby named Tigger and a male black and white domestic shorthair named Melvin Johnnycat

AAS:   Where do you work? If you're retired, what was your occupation?

PH   Im a programmer for EMS Consultants, LTD

AAS:   What are your other hobbies?

PH   Computer programming, Internet gaming.

AAS:   What was your first or favorite car?

PH   My first car was a 1971 Volkswagon Sqareback, ugly as sin.  My current car is a red S-10 Blazer.

AAS:   What was your first "real" job?

PH   US Air Force.  I was a crew cheif on the KC-10A  air refueling tanker.

AAS:   Tell us about your favorite vacation.

PH   Trip to Amsterdam Holland when I lived in Germany.

AAS:   Have you ever lived in some other part of the country or another country?

PH   I lived in Germany for 3 years.  When I was in the Air Force, I was station in March AFB, California.  I also lived in Oklahoma when I was in high school.
