Auburn Astronomical Society

About these Pages

These pages are best viewed with a screen resolution of 1024 X 768.

The first crude pages made their web presence premier in June 1996.  The conversion to "Frames" was done in July, 1999.  In December 2003, the domain name "auburnastro.org" was registered.

It was created using Microsoft's, Notepad text editor and "The Beginner's Guide to HTML" and a series of atricles in the Montgomery Advertiser by Jim Upchurch and later with the help of Netscape's HTML editor.

It is best viewed with Netscape 3.0, 4.X, and Mozilla/Firefox.

I have created this site as a labor of love to help promote amateur astronomy in general and the Auburn Astronomical Society in particular, in an effort to give back a portion of the enjoyment that I have received from the hobby.

Special thanks to my son John for assisting with the scanning of images; his lovely, and  talented, wife Amy, for the logo art work; and to Robert Rock, Scott Thompson, Nancy Coburn, and Ricky Wood for supplying the images and whose beautiful astrophotography grace these pages.
